IMMI is searching for an experienced and qualified Lead Restraint Engineer. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology degree required
• Minimum 5 years of product development experience required
• Knowledge of safety restraints (airbag and/or seat belt) design required
• Proficient in 3D modeling preferred
• Strong problem solving skills – Six Sigma preferred
• Proficient in GD&T and Tolerance Stack Analysis
• Experience using DFMEA's to drive design and validation requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience as a team-lead required; supervisory experience preferred

Lead Restraint Engineer job description:
• Design, develop, test and release safety restraint products
• Establish technical requirement documents
• Work with model shop and suppliers to fabricate and assemble prototype parts
• Utilize DFMEA's to lead development process
• Develop and execute test and validation plans
• Interface with customers to qualify and release product
• Conduct regular design reviews and peer reviews
• Lead problem-solving and continuous-improvement activities
• Manage Bill of Materials documenting component costs
• Work with Purchasing to identify and source suppliers
• Interface with Manufacturing Engineering to develop production processes/controls
• Lead development team by delegating work and prioritizing tasks
